Help: Importing to Phown with PhoneView

Importing to Phown with PhoneView

You can import calls and messages from your iPhone using PhoneView, developed by eCamm Network.

Phown users who cannot use the Phown Importer utility on their Mac can use PhoneView as a way to export their data from their iPhone and import them into Phown.

Phown supports importing Calls and Messages from PhoneView version 2.6 or above.

Importing Calls

  1. In PhoneView, select the Call Log tab of the left and then click the Copy from iPhone button on the top bar. This will prompt you to save a file.
  2. Take note of the folder where you save the file. It will be called CallHistory.txt
  3. In Phown, go to the Imports page and click the big Import Phone History button on the right. A dialog will pop up.
  4. Select Calls, PhoneView, the Phone these calls belong to, then select the CallHistory.txt file you have just exported with PhoneView and hit Upload.

That's it.

Importing Messages

  1. In PhoneView, select the Messages tab of the left and then click the Copy from iPhone button on the top bar. This will prompt you to save a file.
  2. Make sure you select "Save messages as: Tab Delimited". You can uncheck the "Save Media Items as Separate Files" option. Take note of the folder where you save the file. It will be called Messages.txt (or Messages-1, -2, -3, etc., .txt) if you have made previous exports).
  3. In Phown, go to the Imports page and click the big Import Phone History button on the right. A dialog will pop up.
  4. Select Messages, PhoneView, the Phone these messages belong to, select the Messages.txt file you have just exported with PhoneView and hit Upload.

You're done.
